Bvlgari unveils its new 2014 Il Giardino Marino timepiece

Bvlgari recently unveiled its 2014 Il Giardino Marino timepiece, which honours the natural beauty of the underwater world

by 04 July 2014

The uniqueness of the timepiece lies in the aesthetic beauty of its enchanting dial, that boasts a series of underwater motifs such as fish, coral, and sea stars complemented by 29 luxurious brilliant-cut diamonds.

This outstanding representation of the underwater world was created using a technique called miniature painting, which involves a combination of blue, red, teal and gold elements.

The tourbillon mechanism is revealed through a round window, which opens like the porthole of a bathyscaph. The watch mechanism is enhanced by a Côtes de Genève decoration and fine circular-graining. The case of the watch measures 37mm and is made out of 18k pink gold. Optionally, the bezel can be adorned with 36 diamonds totalling 2.88 carats, but can also feature a simple yet beautiful engraving of “Bvlgari”.

Other highlights of the Il Giardino Marino timepiece include a power reserve of 68 hours, a blue strap made out of alligator leather, is water- resistant to 30 metres and features an 18kt rose gold buckle.

The watch is limited to 100 units (50 with diamonds on the bezel and 50 without).
