Luxury watch brands have been expanding their reach of late, with four brands opening in new locations this season.
Jaeger Le-Coultre has opened its fourth boutique in Italy, cutting the ribbon on a location in Piazza di Spagna, Rome. After the grand opening, guests attended a beautiful cocktail reception at the Hotel Splendide Royal, and enjoyed music and dining on one of the most elegant terraces in Rome.
Growth of luxury watch brands in Italy continued on 1 June 2014 when the Swatch Group opened a new Hour Passion Boutique in the airport of Malpensa, non-Schengen area. The boutique will be a point of sale for brands such as Longines, Rado, Calvin Klein Watches, Hamilton and Mido. Including this opening, there are now 56 Hour Passion boutiques across the globe, and six in Italy.
Another European expansion is occurring at the end of June 2014, when Christophe Claret timepieces will be available at the Arije flagship boutique in Paris. Located at 50 rue Pierre Charron, in the heart of the city's "Golden Triangle," the boutique will become the brand's first point of sale in France, and its third in Europe. Christophe Claret, a Swiss watchmaker from Le Locle, has been busy of late, designing three new timepieces including its first for ladies.
Extending the reach of luxury watch brands outside of Europe is OMEGA, which opened a boutique in Beijing on 12 June 2014. Located in the Wangfuijing Department Store, the boutique is in a central fashion district of Beijing. The opening was followed by a gala dinner attended by OMEGA's VIPS and media guests.
