Chopard is a brand, founded in 1860 in Sonvillier, Switzerland, that unites all the crafts skills in a single manufacture. The Scheufele family who have run the company since 1963 coordinate the 30-plus roles, providing training and ensuring the transfer of expertise from generation to generation. Designers, watchmakers, gem-setters, polishers and many more cooperate to create pieces that call for several hundreds of hours of work each, such as those in the L’Heure du Diamant series. One of these watches recently won the Jewellery Watch Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. This model is an automatic watch with a 38-hour power reserve (reference 104331-5001), in a pink gold case and strap set with diamonds. A beautiful piece, 30.6 millimetres in diameter, waterproof to 30 metres.
