IWC – Portuguese Automatic
“Heroes of the sea, noble race...”, runs the first line of the Portuguese national anthem. It is an expression of the collective memory, in which the great seafarers of Portugal are still very much alive to the present time. The spirit of navigation was the theme at IWC this year with the celebration of its Portuguese collection, which enters its eighth decade. The “Portuguese Automatic” – with the large, IWC-manufactured 51011-calibre movement and seven-day power reserve – has also undergone a facelift. This watch with a 42.3-millimetre case is now offered in red gold instead of rose gold and has solid red gold appliqués. The steel variant now features a silver-plated dial and rose gold-plated hands and appliqués. With the Portuguese collection, IWC pays ultimate homage to gallant navigators over 500 years ago. Now, you can brave the waves with the collection’s many new references.

Audemars Piguet - Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph
Since it was founded in 1875, the Audemars Piguet Manufacture has upheld the art of Haute Horlogerie around the same values: tradition, excellence and innovation. Exceptional pieces, some of which take up to eight months to manufacture, are made in the workshops. The assembly and adjustment are done entirely by hand thus keeping to the traditional methods. The satin-finished sides, the cogs, the pearled casing and the Côtes de Genève decor are just a few examples of this excellence. Because, according to Audemars Piguet, shouldn’t a watch be as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside? Certainly, the creative emotion invested into the beauty of these exceptional pieces is matched only by the technology used to manufacture them. The inventiveness and creative audacity are closely linked to the passion of beauty. The unprecedented number of “world firsts” demonstrates the absolute mastery of the avant-garde techniques. This year, to celebrate its status as the Official Timepiece of the Tour Auto Optic 2000, the house is launching a new limited edition collection made up of 60 pieces entitled the Royal Oak Offshore Tour Auto 2010 Chronograph. This watch is the embodiment of power and protection. A symbol of strength and independence of Audemars Piguet.
