Officially opened on January 15, 2010, Breguet’s boutique in Hong Kong is situated in 1881 Heritage, a luxury shopping destination transformed from a colonial site. The Consul General of Switzerland in Hong Kong, Han J. Roth, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The opening night was quite a scene with many VIPs and celebrities attending the important event.
The design and style of this boutique echoes the flagship store in Paris. Inspired by the color of Breguet’s antique pocket watch enamel dial, the gigantic three-layered blue glass of the display windows radiate a classic and refined elegance. On the walls are the portraits of famous people such as Marie-Antoinette, Napoleon, Winston Churchill, etc – all of them patrons and collectors of Breguet watches
As Hong Kong’s first Breguet boutique, it has the city’s most complete range of Breguet luxury watches. This is an ideal place for Breguet lovers to do their shopping. On the opening night, Marie-Antoinette’s pocket watch No. 1160 pocket watch was displayed for the very first time in Hong Kong, as part of the boutique’s exclusive, two-week-long exhibition. Once possessed by one of history’s most memorable figures, this pocket watch has had quite a story of its own. What a great item to behold for Breguet collectors! On display were also antique timepieces once owned by Tsar Alexander I of Russia, Empress Joséphine Bonaparte and Empress Marie-Louise of France. This exhibition showed us the achievement of Breguet in the tumultuous history of 19th-century Europe. What’s more is that you will understand the dedication behind Breguet’s involvement in restoring The Petit Trianon and parts of the Palace of Versaille.
