Fashion - Vionnet spring 2013 - 12-10-2012
Vionnet spring 2013
by Lindsay McCallum
After just having celebrated 100 years of fashion, the house of Vionnet has something else to celebrate - a beautiful collection for spring/summer 2013. Under the new ownership and creative direction of Goga Ashkenazi, Vionnet is seeing the next stage of its revival. The heritage brand, which was revived just three years ago, is finding its place in the world of Paris fashion once again. Taking notes from the original designs of Madeleine Vionnet, the latest collection was full of light jerseys and silks, new takes on the classic smoking jacket, beautiful Grecian gowns cut on the bias, a silhouette invented by Vionnet, and other pieces reflecting Madeleine’s strict anti-corset philosophy.
