The Istanbul Shopping Fest - 9-29 June 2012
This year, the Istanbul Shopping Fest is running from 9 to 29 June 2012, so you still have two weeks to take part in this massive event. It involves the whole city, with massive discounts in stores, exhibitions, live music, games for kids, and displays of the latest fashion trends. Malls such as Sapphire Bazaar, Istinye Park and Kanyon, and shopping streets such as Abdi İpekçi, İstiklal and Bağdat, are central attractions for the thousands of visitors arriving from all over the world. (In the photo above, the Armaggan boutique). Other highlights include historical shopping venues such as the Egyptian Spice Market and the Grand Bazaar. Many shopping locations are open until 2 a.m., and some are open 24 hours a day. For tourists, tax-free shopping provides discounts of up to 30%.
A great base from which to enjoy the Istanbul Shopping Fest (ISF) is the House Hotel Nisantasi. Today and tomorrow, the House Hotel Lounge becomes a fashion boutique, in an event promoted by the hotel and run by Buse Terim, Turkey's most popular fashion blogger. On 15 and 16 June, a pop-up store at The House Hotel Nisantasi presents garments by various designers and brands, and a garage sale section that includes her own clothes and accessories.

The House Hotel Nisantasi also provides another service enabling you to make the most of the Istanbul Shopping Fest: personal shopper Ceyda Tavasi, who has studied Fashion Marketing and worked as image consultant at Donna Karan before moving back to Istanbul. In such a complex and multi-faceted city, someone like Ceyda who knows every nook and cranny of the streets and stores is invaluable in helping your create your unique style as quickly and effectively as possible.

At the heart of the city on Abdi Ipekci, a street famous for its luxury boutiques and cafés, The House Hotel Nisantasi is a unique boutique hotel. Designed by Autoban, it is the epitome of designer chic, in its lobby, restaurant, and its 38 rooms and 6 suites. Enjoyment is superlative particularly in the suites with private terrace, which immerse you in the city environment with spectacular views over the Bosphorus. A great place to retreat to after a strenuous session of shopping!
