Harrods opens a Salon de Parfums

London's Harrods has opened the Salon de Parfums, on the store’s sixth floor, rather than within the Beauty Halls. A truely intimate consumer experience due to the personal nature of purchasing a fragrance

Customers will now be able to spend time learning about and sampling the finest and rarest scents alongside exclusive bespoke creations and services in the new salon, which boasts 11 branded boutiques. Brands with dedicated areas include Bond No.9, By Kilian, Chanel, Clive Christian, Creed, Dior, Guerlain, Henry Jacques, Roja Dove, Tom Ford and Xerjoff.

Harrods has designed the Salon de Parfum’s decor with a palette of elegant, soft greys and warm natural tones along with a tiled corridor, columns, embedded vitrines and decorative light fixtures to create an intimate retail experience for fragrance consumers.

The salon covers 5,090 square feet also features a “fragrance gallery” which will include world-exclusive brands, such as London-based perfumer’s Thomas Kosmala’s fragrances, Dolce & Gabbana’s Velvet collection and Bond No.9’s Harrods collection. There is also a section of the floor devoted to fragrances in limited-edition bottles from brands such as Bottega Veneta and Ferragamo. The room itself will be majestic in feel, with chandeliers, architectural columns and elegant grey decor.

Each brand has also designed its own interiors: The walls of the Dior space, for example are covered in 4,500 paper origami roses while that of Henry Jacques is meant to resemble a private apartment in Paris, with parquet floors and curtains embroidered with gold thread.
