Actress Michelle Yeoh has been a close friend to the maison Van Cleef & Arpels for a number of years, and to celebrate her award for 'Excellence in Asian Cinema' at the 7th Asian Film Awards this year, they organized a cocktail at the Residence of Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, followed by a private dinner on 17 March 2013.

There were over 70 guests, including Michelle Yeoh's family and friends, along with Catherine Renier, Managing Director of Van Cleef & Arpels Hong Kong & Macau, and Peter Cheung, Regional Marketing and Communications Director of Van Cleef & Arpels Asia Pacific.

The maison paid tribute to Michelle for her contribution to the Asian film industry, in which she has promoted the status of Asian actresses in the international arena. The Van Cleef & Arpels representatives commented on the similarities between their brand and the actress: constantly striving for excellence and reaching success worldwide. Michelle was born in 1963, and became famous partly because she performed her own stunts in the action films that sealed her reputation in the 1990s. Famous roles include the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never dies, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. One of the most famous film criticism websites named her as the greatest action heroine of all time.
