Milan's luxury hotels - the MGallery group
The Uptown Palace and the Grand Visconti Palace hotels in central Milan
MGallery is the brand that presents the top luxury hotels of the Accor group, over 50 hotels worldwide from a total of over 3,500 hotels in 92 countries. In Italy, the MGallery group comprises nine hotels, two of which are in Milan: the urban-chic Uptown Palace, and the Grand Visconti Palace.
The Uptown Palace is a modern 4-star hotel strategically located, just a few minutes from Piazza Duomo and the city's top shopping. It is characteristic for its comfort and style, with sophisticated interiors designed in warm beige and brown colours. The 158 guestrooms range from Classic rooms right through to Suites, and all offer high comfort and superbly finished design. The Junior and Executive Suites have fine views and a whirlpool tub, while the Presidential Suite on the top floor looks over the city rooftops right across to the city's beautiful Cathedral. Uptown Restaurant offers quality dining, with recipes based on Italian and seasonal tradition, along with innovative features of contemporary cuisine.
The Grand Visconti Palace is a rarity in Milan: a 4-star city resort, beautifully sited in a renovated mill, the Mulino Verga, which is remembered by the head of corn in the hotel's logo. The courtyard is now a beautiful garden, onto which most of the rooms and suites face, as well as the Spa, the restaurant and the congress centre. The hotel has 172 rooms from Classic to Suite, all of which incorporate the latest technology. The Tower Suite is a beautiful accommodation covering a total of 120 square metres over 3 levels, with private lift and staircase, and breathtaking views over Milan.
The restaurant at the Grand Visconti Palace is named Al V Piano (on the fifth floor), an evocative location on the attic floor of what was once the corn silo for the mill. It gives diners the chance to savour Milanese and Italian specialities, as well as international favourites.
The Health Club at the Grand Visconti Palace is another lovely experience, with Turkish Bath, whirlpool area, fitness centre, and an indoor pool. The facility faces the inner gardens. The hotel also has a modern and efficient Congress Centre with 14 meeting rooms.
Within the MGallery group, the Uptown Palace is in their 'Signature' category by virtue of its designer quality, while the Grand Visconti Palace is a perfect expression of the 'Heritage' category.
