Events - Louis Vuitton - Turbulence at the Espace Culturel - 31-07-2012
Louis Vuitton - Turbulence at the Espace Culturel
Turbulence is a very topical word nowadays, applicable to everything from world trade to political unrest. But Leonardo da Vinci's use of the word "torbolenza" was applied to the swirls, curls, spirals and patterns created in air and water during the transition from laminar flow to turbulent flow. Turbulence is a volative, irreversible and unpredictable process, and so ideal in artistic applications.
The Espace Culturel Louis Vuitton is exhibiting a show called Turbulence, from 21 June to 16 September 2012. Artists include Pascal Haudressy, Ryoichi Kurokawa, Attila Csörgo, Zilvinas Kempinas, Petroc Sesi, Jorinde Voigt, Loris Cecchini, Sachiko Kodama, Elias Crespin, Miguel Chevalier and Angela Bulloch, curated by David Rosenberg and Pierre Sterckx.
