Remember Pelé - the best player of all time?

Well, to honour the brazilian footballer, the Italian manufacturers of luxury pens, Montegrappa, have produced limited edition pens in two versions: the heritage ( in solid gold or solid silver trim) and the p10 edition (1940 pieces in silver and 10 in 18k gold).

The heritage features the Brazilian flag coloured cap, which is shaped as a football, atop a crown that reads ‘all hail the king’. The spring-loaded clip features cabochons on either side, inspired by the original championship trophy. The barrel of the pen features Pelé’s familiar shorts, its blind cap matches his socks, while the nib comes with Pelé’s signature and the dates of 1958-1962-1970, the years that Pelé won his three FIFA World Cups.

The silver trim edition comprises 1283 fountain pens and 1283 rollerball pens representing the number of goals scored in his entire career, while the gold edition features 10 fountain pens and 10 roller balls, representing his jersey number.

The P10 Edition pen features silver trims, with the top inspired by the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro and the colours of Brazil. The clip is a sceptre with a miniature football containing a sapphire on top.

The P10 will comprise a total of 1940 pieces in fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint, the number representing Pelé’s birth date. An exclusive version is also available in solid 18k gold - only 10 fountain pens and 10 rollerballs have been made.
