Muzo International and Chopard: A precious collaboration

Muzo International, the sales and marketing subsidiary of the Texma group which owns the largest emerald mine in the world, is associating with Chopard and the Cannes Film Festival to celebrate the famous jeweller and watchmaker’s 150th anniversary.

Muzo International, which controls production of the most famous emerald mine in Colombia since 2009, is working together with Chopard throughout the Festival to celebrate the Swiss company’s 150th anniversary.

In this way, the Chopard Lounge and its magnificent terrace, situated in the famous Martinez Hotel, will be transformed for one spectacular evening on the 19th May, into a dense and luscious jungle where Muzo will exhibit some of its most beautiful gemstones.

Furthermore, it is around a Muzo emerald that one of the major pieces in the Red Carpet Collection 2010 was created. Starting with a 60 carat square-cut gemstone, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard, dreamed up an unforgettably graceful and beautiful necklace that will no doubt ignite the red carpet of the Palais des Festivals.

A 150 carat challenge
Muzo International, a company renowned for its high-quality gemstones, searched far and wide for this exceptional 150 carat emerald destined to be glorified by the Swiss company. Thus, once the gemstone is discovered, a rough allowing for a 150 carat emerald of the highest quality, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele will imagine a unique piece which will be revealed later in the year.
