17 May 2010, Cannes  – 2010 is Chopard’s 150th anniversary. The Geneva-based House naturally chose Cannes and its prestigious Film Festival, of which it is both official partner and designer of the Palme d’Or, as the ideal setting in which to celebrate this anniversary with a memorable party in the VIP Room and an exceptional concert by Lionel Richie.

From 11 pm onwards, Chopard’s 1,000 guests gathered at the VIP Room, the iconic Croisette night-club, for a festive 150th anniversary evening.

To celebrate this milestone in due style, Chopard co-president Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele invited renowned American singer Lionel Richie to give a special performance. For over an hour, and to guests’ obvious delight, he reprised some of his greatest hits, including Say you say Me, All Night Long and Hello, specially dedicated to Caroline whom he invited on stage.

A number of stars were in attendance including Eva Herzigova, ambassadress of the house, Jacky Ickx, Princess Charlotte Casiraghi with Margherita Missoni, Tatiana Santo Domingo and Francesca Versace, French actresses Marion Cotillard, Emmanuelle Béart, Clotilde Coureau and Nora Arnezeder, English actress and this year’s jury member Kate Beckinsale, along with Naomi Watts, Meg Ryan, Billy Zane and David Furnish, fashion models Dree Hemingway, Tori Praver, Naomi Campbell and Eugenia Silva, producer Harvey Weinstein, dancer Eleonora Abbagnato, the Hilton family, Lindsay Lohan, and the evening’s Emcee, Myleene Klass.

After the concert, Brazilian fashion model and DJ Jesus Luz set the night on fire and kept guests dancing all night.
