The Trophée Chopard 2010

13th May 2010, Cannes – The salons of the Martinez Hotel hosted the 10th edition of the Trophée Chopard, organised in partnership with Première magazine, to reward two particularly talented young actors. Liya Kebede and Edward Hogg were presented with their trophies by the event’s exceptional patroness, Helen Mirren, before arriving at the Chopard Lounge for a magnificent evening held in their honour.

For its 10th edition, the Trophée Chopard was awarded to Liya Kebede, who gave a poignant performance in the film inspired by the life of Waris Dirie, Desert Flower; and to Edward Hogg, for a brilliant performance in White Lightnin’. In addition to the patroness of this edition, British actress Helen Mirren, the award ceremony was graced with the presence of Chopard Co-President Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele and Gilles Jacob, President of the Cannes Film Festival.

High Jewelry and Fashion
The Oscar winning actress, Helen Mirren, chose an impressive High Jewellery kunzite and diamond necklace set with a pear-shaped Kunzite weighting 173cts to the micro pavé-set black and white diamond neckline ending with a pear-shaped black diamond as well as a beautiful sapphire ring.

The English actor and winner of the Trophée Chopard, Edward Hogg chose to wear a L.U.C Tech Twist watch in steel.

Liya Kebede, the beautiful top model and actress, winner of the Trophée Chopard, was wearing a magnificent pair of earrings in 18ct white gold set with white and black diamonds and two rubellites (59cts).

Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard selected a stunning 18 ct white gold cat necklace from the Animal World Collection set with diamonds and amethysts.

An intimate and glamorous evening
After the ceremony, everybody congregated on the terrace of the Chopard Lounge, located on the 7th floor of the Martinez Hotel, for an intimate and glamorous evening. Attendees included Jean-Marc Barr, member of the Trophée Chopard 2010 jury, Italian actresses Laura Chiatti and Moran Attias and French actress Aïssa Maiga.

Within the enchanting setting of the Chopard Lounge especially decorated for the occasion with beautiful orchids and peonies, attendees nibbled on crisp coriander-flavoured prawns, tuna belly with black olives, along with fine slices of Serrano and asparagus tips with parmesan shavings while sipping Boizel champagne as well as Château de Cayx wines or delicious Grey Goose cocktails.

From 11 pm onwards, American actress and DJ Michelle Rodriguez set the night on fire and kept guests dancing into the sunrise.
