Montblanc Princesse de Monaco Collection Featured

Swiss mechanical watches and premier design jewelry honour the style icon

by 30 January 2012

Her beauty, style and legacy - Princess Grace of Monaco remains one of 20th century's greatest icons. Montblanc, the renowned writing instruments brand, has created a new collection to commemorates the late Grace Kelly. We went to take a look during its Milan Fashion Week presentation and loved the stunning pen made of pink enamel and solid champagne-coloured gold decorated with Princess Grace's monogramme. If you look more closely, you will notice that the pen cap and the clip are set with pear-shaped diamond and sapphire.

The collection also includes high jewellery pieces featuring the Montblanc diamond and a watch (limited timepiece edition of eight) that embodies the quintessence of feminine beauty. While in the Via Montenapoleone boutique, I also checked out the famous Nicolas Rieussec watch which you can see in our top 10 watches in the world coverage.

At this year's Salon International de Haute Horlogerie, Montblanc showcased the full watches and jewellery collection with both limited and unlimited items. Two limited editions – one set with baguette-cut diamonds and the other with premium diamonds – boast an 18-carat red gold case engraved with the princess’ monogramme, a Montblanc patented diamond in the crown, and are powered by the in-house 4810/160 movement.

The stainless steel watch has Montblanc’s mother-of-pearl emblem on the white dial, the princess’ monogramme engraved on the case back and is powered by the in-house 4810/160 movement. Complemented by a white alligator leather strap, it is perfect for active women who do not want to sacrifice elegance. The epitome of style is without doubt the new jewellery collection with its feminine design inspired by flower petals. Make a beautiful set with the Pétales Entrelacés or Pétales de Rose rings, earrings, bracelets and bangles.
