Volvo launches new delivery service

Volvo develops new technology that gets packages delivered to your car

We all know that online shopping has never been easier, but with a busy lifestyle and perhaps no one at home to catch that Amazon package at the exact moment the delivery man gets to your house, may be some cause for concern.

However, things may change for Volvo owners, thanks to new digital key technology, which will allow owners to choose their vehicles as a delivery and pickup option, according to a Volvo press release.

When the delivery company is about to drop off or pick up a package from the car, it notifies the car owner, who then creates a digital key that the delivery company can use. The car owner will be able to track when the car is opened and then locked. After the delivery or pickup is complete, the digital key ceases to exist.

The technology also makes it possible to remotely heat or cool the car and check how much petrol is in the tank through your phone, the press release says.

Tecno lovers will be able to see the new technology at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week.
