Clothes and fashion tips - Tommy Hilfiger has announced an exclusive footwear mini collection, launched in cooperation with the Keith Haring Foundation and Artestar LLC. The collection features motifs by Keith Haring, the American artist who died in 1990. It comprises sneakers and rainboots, and its launch in selected footwear stores and department stores is planned for September 2010. A pre-launch took place in February 2010 at Parisian store Colette.
The Keith Haring Foundation is committed to enhancing the heritage of Haring's art, and continuing the charity work that Haring himself had begun in 1989. It is particularly involved in supporting organizations helping disadvantaged children, and others working in the fight against AIDS and the HIV virus.
Tommy Hilfiger launched the Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation in December 1995, initially to provide a means of expression for young Americans. It later widened its activities to include work on educational and cultural projects for young people. The organizations that it supports include the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project foundation, Race to Erase MS, The One 4 All Foundation, UNICEF, and Breast Health International. In September 2009, the Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation donated over 2 milliion dollars to Millennium Promise, a not-for-profit organization that helps destitute people.
