Building upon three decades of success in the America, premier jewelry and timepiece designer David Yurman celebrated his shop-in-shop debut in Paris at Printemps Haussmann.

During the height of Fashion Week on March 8th, David Yurman’s long anticipated Paris shop-in-shop launch event was finally hosted. David, Sybil and Evan Yurman were delighted to celebrate this special opening which marks the jeweler’s first-ever European retail presence. Boasting an entire floor dedicated to fine jewelry at the department store, the launch of David Yurman’s 400 square-feet shop-in-shop attracted over 800 guests with such VIPs and notables including French actresses Catherine Deneuve, Christine Boisson and Julie Gayet; French singer Alain Chamfort; French Vogue Editor-in-Chief Carine Roitfeld; model Elettra Rossellinni; David Yurman campaign photographer Peter Lindbergh; Printemps CEO Paolo de Cesare and many more. Asian actress Fan Bing Bing also attended, wearing a classy black dress paired with David Yurman’s timeless Bubble pearl necklace and ring in 18K gold with pave diamond which drew great attention.

David Yurman’s Paris opening is a natural move for the designer, as his love affair with Paris began at an early age and sparked his interest in art and sculpture. “I have always felt a close artistic connection with France,” says Yurman. “One of my earliest discoveries was a book that featured prehistoric drawings from The Caves of Lascaux in the South of France. The images inspired me to start sketching, which ultimately evolved into my passion for the dimensional art of sculpture. Many years later, I worked as an apprentice to French sculptor Jacques Lipschitz, a visionary who introduced me to French art, music and literature in the bohemian sense. Even though I was very young at the time, French culture made a lasting impact on me and continues to influence my work to this day.”

The shop-in-shop is designed by acclaimed architects Yabu Pushelberg, who have also created the Luxury and Accessories space of Printemps Haussmann. This new architectural concept is dedicated to showcasing Fine Jewelry, Fine Timepieces, Leather Goods, and Textiles. The David Yurman shop-in-shop will play host to the iconic creations that have established the brand as one of the foremost and globally-renowned jewelry companies today.

The Paris opening comes during a milestone year for David Yurman: its 30th Anniversary. Subsequent to the Printemps shop-in-shop, David Yurman will celebrate the rebirth of its Flagship boutique on New York City’s legendary Madison Avenue in April, followed by new collection launches and continued growth worldwide.
