StellaSport for Adidas
According to British fashion designer Stella McCartney, 2015's fashion focus is on sport technology which she says is "here to stay as a huge part of our life and wardrobes." Its good news for all you gym bunnies out there, as the designer has once again teamed up with Adidas for another athletic range, and this time it is even edgier and fashion forward than before. "It takes the Stella girl from the campus to the club and finds a link in sport and technology without sacrificing style," says Stella about the collection, which features apparel, accessories and footwear.
StellaSport will be available on Adidas.com and at Topshop and Nordstrom from 15th January
London Collections: Men
When it comes to fashion this year, it is not ladies first but men, with this week, seeing the return of London Collections: Men for the AW 2015 season. Amongst the 70 designers exhibiting are regulars Tom Ford, Burberry, Alexander McQueen and Paul Smith and newcomers Barbour, Todd Lynn, Aquascutum Men and Alex Mattsson. As with all such major fashion events, partying is also hot on the agenda with dinners and soirees galore (6,100 bottles of Warsteiner lager alone will be consumed), and of course, the celebrities out in full force in all their finery. And if you are wondering what the aroma is in London this weekend, it is either the 66kg of Lavazza coffee beans ground and served to heal the hangovers, or one of the 55 Penhaligon's candles which are burnt during the four-day style extravaganza.
The ones to watch: Alan Crocetti, Edward Crutchley, Grace Wales Bonner, Marques' Almeida and Roxanne Farahmand who are all showcasing their wares as part of the Fashion East installation.
London Collections: Men runs from 9th – 12th January
Paris Haute Couture Week
Later in the month the fashion pack will jet over to Paris for Haute Couture Week where ateliers including Chanel, Dior, Valentino, Armani Privé and Elie Saab will present their SS 15 gowns, gilts and gems. This is our first glimpse of what could be in store on the mainline catwalks next season and making its way into our wardrobes, minus the intensely intricate embellishment and tailoring of course. After all this is couture. But one place couture reigns is on the red carpet, and the A-list will be no doubt be eyeing up their favourite gowns ready for the on set of awards season.
Paris Haute Couture Week runs from 25th – 29th January
