Baldinini's Pursuit of Perfection

With its latest collection of chic, simple pieces mixed with strong colours and vagabond spirit, the Italian fashion house has tapped into what men and women really want.

Family-run Italian brand Baldinini set up a shoemaking workshop in 1910 on the Adriatic coast, and has been crafting covetable styles for men and women ever since. Boasting a solid reputation, Baldinini is known for its inspired contemporary designs, attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship.

This season, Baldinini has created a collection that speaks to every type of woman in pursuit of perfection and sophistication. It's an explosion of colours, shapes, and patterns. Heels range from 1960s-style flats to teetering, rainbow-bright stilettos and platforms carved in cork.

Bright colours are paired with embellishments, giving shoes a modern twist. Decorations and finishing touches appear throughout: butterflies, gold-chain trims, Swarovski crystals, rhinestones on coloured suede or patent leather, appliqués on matt nappa and velvety suede, alongside metal and light gold. Popular summer colours such as tangerine, mustard, mauve, turquoise and orange, including pastels, are used as well.

The Baldinini man, on the other hand, is a wanderer, a vagabond spirit – yet chic and refined. The spring/summer 2014 collection is designed for men who treasure superior comfort, style and original design. Key finishes, including faded and worn-in, reflect a new desire for freedom and fluency; de-structured styles are made in suede with unusual colour schemes.
