Vive la difference! Ermanno Scervino has created a collection that looks a world apart from the black dominating Milan's runways for fall-winter 2012/13, with a glorious series of greens, whether bottle, Hookers, grass, emerald, olive, dark or just plain bright. There's a lot of leather as well, with natural leather colour, nude, and gloss leather materials that scintillate on the models as they stride confidently down the runway.
The round hats, reminiscent of riding helmets, introduce an equestrian theme that conjurs up English countryside, as confirmed by some looks with knee-high boots, leather trousers and boiled wool sports jackets with soft, sloping shoulders and, underneath, a polo collar. Necklines are either hidden with fur trim around outerwear collars, or enhanced by day dresses with simple straps or with none at all. Patterns of outerwear are animalier leopard print fur, giant houndstooth, and plain.
As the day moves into evening, an amazing, iridescent fuchsia appears on skirts, hats and a beautiful dress with bordeaux clutch. Blacks and greys in eveningwear confirm the season's trend, with elements of lacy decor, organza layers, and sequins adding to the sparkle. A lovely series of short shoulderless dresses are a true tour-de-force, like a giant bow tie fastened around the searer, cinched at the waist and leaving legs, arms and shoulders gloriously exposed. It'll be an exciting autumn!
