Luxury cellphone manufacturer Vertu continue to move forward in their field, and they have recently launched the brand's highly anticipated first touchscreen mobile phone: Constellation.
Yesterday evening (18 October 2011), Vertu admirers gathered for this special launch at Milan's spectacular Palazzo Serbelloni for a preview of this new model. The venue was chosen for its prestige and beauty. In fact the 19th-century Palazzo Serbelloni embodies Vertu's aesthetic values. However the interior decor was modified specially for the event with an far more modern style, designed by architect Ma Yansong, who is also a Vertu ambassador. The magnificent structure became the first of its kind, incorporating the external beauty of the courtyard as well as providing an appropriate setting for this exciting new handset.
Among the guests present at the event were actresses Tilda Swinton, Uma Thurman and Michelle Yeoh along with actor Clive Owen, models Rosie Huntington-Whitely and David Gandy and many more. The evening was hosted by Vertu President, Perry Oosting, “We are delighted to launch our first touchscreen handset in Milan, enabling us to fully share our exceptional passion and expertise in mobile phones, craftsmanship and exclusive services with one of the most important and discerning markets in the world. We are pleased to be able to celebrate our first touchscreen phone, Constellation, with our friends of the brand in Milan.”
The evening was marked by several announcements, including news of the reopening of Vertu's flagship boutique in Via Montenapoleone, which had been closed for renovation. It is now open, showcasing these one-of-a-kind exquisite mobile phones, including the Signature, Constellation Quest and this most recent touchscreen Constellation.
This latest addition to the Vertu family is yet further proof that Vertu products embody the latest innovation and timeless elegance. The touchscreen Constellation also utiilzes Vertu's exclusive luxury services including Vertu Concierge. Technical features include extensive band coverage, a 3.5" HD multi-touch sapphire crystal display screen, an 8 mega-pixel camera, 32GB memory and Vertu's high fidelity sound system.
Each Constellation is hand-made by a single craftsman, using state-of-the-art technology. This new model is available in several variants: satin brown, polished black or pink, black or white alligator (with or without diamonds) and red gold with mixed metals. Prices start at €4,400 for the satin brown model, reaching €10,900 for the red gold mixed metals model. More details of this model are now available on the new portal from Vertu in eight different languages.
