Fashion Review of the new women's footwear collection
by 24 September 2011

Giuseppe Zanotti’s designs all start with a sketch, a few intersecting pencil strokes that form the silhouette of a vertiginous and sexy pump in some electrifying colour or ultra fabulous embellishment that will inevitably wind up on the pedicured feet of party girls and A-list glamazons alike. We are happy to report that Mr. Zanotti has outdone himself this time around with a staggering collection of gorgeous, gravity defying shoes with accents that the term shoe belittles their artistic integrity.

His wedge is curved, the pump is taller and chunkier than any other we’ve seen to date and he even found the time to fit in a bridal collection – a classic departure from his avant-garde designs, but stunning nonetheless. Personalised touches like a new line of zodiac sign sandals are what set this designer apart from the pack.

Zanotti drew inspiration from art, music and eras which blend together for an all out assault on the eyes of fantastical creations. He says he wanted his women to take jazz steps by exaggerating heels and giving them a poetic license to have fun with style. These new designs are a celebration of irreverent art from pop art to street art and writings on the wall. Zanotti uses the shoes as his wall and scrawls his message in the loveliest and most enticing of ways.
