Autumn in London's Hyde Park: the ideal venue for one of the UK's oldest and leading fashion houses to unveil next season's women's collections. It is not by chance that Burberry Prorsum is one of the hottest labels out there today. It is the forward thinking and incredible strategic planning that goes in to each and every product the house puts out. Imagine that we just saw the show and all of the products are already available for sale on the brand's website.
Present were Sienna Miller, Kanye West, Anna Wintour, Photographer Mario Testino and Burberry spokesmodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley surrounded by over a hundred more guests inside an enormous glass-encased runway. We were transported back to the seventies with acoustic music stylings such as George Harrison’s ‘My Sweet Lord’ with models practically bouncing to the beat wearing the new must-have Burberry trench for the season in all of its glamorous incarnations from flared knee-length mocha and deep violet hues to honey bee inspired gold and black horizontal stripes.
Knit hats with cute balls attached to the top seemed suitable for this season as well as spring, while chunky, sky high wedges brought bohemian to Britain. We fancied the idea of wearing leather belts over trenches and coats, after all when we’re out and about all day, no one will see the accessories under the jacket – so better to let it hang out!
Highwaisted pencil skirts with horizontal stripes and three-quarter length lightweight sweaters in gold and teal called to mind a Byzantine flair and the presence of vibrantly coloured fur popped up here and there, hanging off a shoulder or lining a trench hood.
If you can’t wait until next spring to pick up these fashion’s, head over to their website.
