A shining star in the firmament of German fashion, Guido Maria Kretschmer found his true vocation after taking a small detour. He started out with studying medicine but realised very quickly that his heart was beating for fashion. This realization was followed by training as a fashion designer within Europe and by gaining practical experience in a number of large fashion houses. Guido Maria Kretschmer began his career as a corporate fashion designer by founding his company “GMK by pepper”.

In 2004 the designer made a dream come true and founded his own fashion label “Guido Maria Kretschmer Couture,” focusing on exclusive day and evening wear. His collections stand for femininity, elegance and the perfect fit - elegant robes in skilfully combined exquisite materials having become his trademark. His garments are made of Japanese silk and finest wool, adorned with highly elaborate embroidery and manufactured with truly accomplished craftsmanship. Sensuality, elegance and luxury made to last is the thread running through his work.
Opulence and drama
“Boulevard d'hiver”, the new autumn/winter collection 2011/2012 by Guido Maria Kretschmer takes you down a Parisian street on an early morning. Clouded in the mist of a snowy dawn, tranquillity is spreading, not forgetting the passion for fashion that is always pulsating through the city. With “Boulevard d'hiver”, the elegant look the designer stands for becomes more international. Clear shapes, finest materials and catching details are worked into divine creations. Slim trousers, fitted tailoring and crêpe de chine fabrics flattering the female figure are aimed at making the modern woman appear in her best light, while nappa leather compositions, crystal applications and silk embroidery lend an air of luxury and sophistication to the wearer. The exclusive cocktail and evening dresses, opulent, dramatic and truly unique, convey a glamorous comfort not so easily found in haute couture. This hasn’t remained unnoticed, and his creations are highly prized by many celebrities including Charlize Theron, Jane Seymour and Alexandra Maria Lara, who gracefully parade his elegant robes over the red carpets of the world.
For Guido Maria Kretschmer “elegance is the last remaining luxury of our times.”
