A good night’s sleep has always been best to prepare you for the coming day. This applies even more to our modern times, where urban life demands a lot of energy and poses many challenges. Therefore the night should be yours alone, reserved for a weightless and undisturbed sleep. This should go without saying, considering that a third of our lifetime we spend sleeping.

The Swedish family business Hästens has been known to manufacture high-quality beds for many generations. Quality and craftsmanship are the pillars of Hästens’ philosophy: only carefully selected natural materials such as linen, wool and cotton, superior pine wood and hypoallergenic horse hair have been used ever since the company was founded in 1852. The beds are free of materials harmful to one’s health, guaranteeing good sleep even to those suffering from allergies. “It’s not just a question of comfort. A good night’s sleep makes for a better day – and a better life in the long run”, says Jan Ryde, the current owner and manager of the company.

Each Hästens bed is a unique handmade piece, certified by the company with a 25 year warranty. A new addition to the line is the comfortable Hästens Proferia - the extra thick mattress is sewn entirely by hand for more stability. Also the new model Hästens Auroria promises wonderful sleep, the secret lying in the combination of the patented pocket spring system with the ingenious layering method. The popular model Hästens 2000 T II comes with two pocket spring systems, and has been upgraded, as has the exclusive Hästens Luxuria.

Hästens’ bed specialists always have the future of our planet in mind. Committed to sustainable production based on environmental awareness, Hästens only works with natural and strictly controlled materials. Since January 2011 improved cotton and low-odour wool are used, upgrading the quality even further. All Hästens beds bear the swan eco-label – the symbol of the Nordic environmental labelling system that is only awarded to manufacturers complying with strict regulations, including regular controls and tests.

Owing to the outstanding quality of its products, Hästens has been appointed Purveyor to the Swedish Royal Court. But not only at royal palaces is a good night’s sleep appreciated – today Hästens delivers its luxury beds with the iconic blue and white check to 36 countries worldwide.
