Mulberry launch their fortieth anniversary book Featured

A unique glimpse into the life of this British luxury fashion brand

Mulberry have published a book that provides a unique glimpse into the life of this English luxury fashion brand. It took nearly 3 years to create and is a collection of 480 pages of exquisite, never-before-seen images. Shot by the renowned photographer and regular Mulberry collaborator Venetia Dearden, the book captures the brand’s incredible recent success and its arrival on the world stage.

“This book has been created to celebrate Mulberry’s 40th anniversary. Rather than a dry historical round up of the brand’s past, it is a glimpse inside our world, a fly on the wall, warts and all journey through the past two years of the brand’s life. It shows our public and private life, the highs and lows and the extraordinary Mulberry ‘family’ that work so hard together to make it all seem so effortless.”

Contents include access behind the scenes at the brand’s thriving Somerset factory, the last brand-owned luxury accessories factory in the UK; views of the Mulberry team, shops, shows and parties showing the fashion circus in full swing as the team plan, prepare and present season after season; and gorgeous natural shots of Mulberry’s Creative Director Emma Hill and the brand’s regular collaborators including Edward Enninful, Sam McKnight, Pat McGrath and Tim Walker.

In addition, there are intimate and relaxed shots of celebrities and models including Florence Welch, Alexa Chung, Kelis, Lindsey Wixson, Erin O’Connor, Olivia Palermo and Gemma Arterton enjoying Mulberry’s remarkably warm and charmingly family style take on the fashion circuit.

The book also features an introduction telling the remarkable story of the brand’s idiosyncratically English creation in 1971 written in consultation with and including anecdotes and memories from the brand’s founder, Roger Saul.

‘Mulberry’ is a beautifully designed and luxuriously finished coffee table book. It was designed by Construct and printed in Italy by Mondadori Printing. The book will be launched on 4th May 2011 and will be available initially only in Mulberry stores and from mulberry.com, distributed by Turnaround from 1st July 2011.
