by 23 February 2011

Burberry’s Fall/Winter 2011-2012 runway show was held this past 21 February at the Royal Park of Kensington Gardens in London and was broadcast around the world. The fashion show was broadcast live on the 32 meter screen at Piccadilly Circus, visible to millions each week and around the world at Burberry.com where it could also be seen on iPhones and iPads all over. Burberry flagship stores around the globe hosted events where it was possible to purchase items from the runway show and receive them in a record time of 7 weeks.

Greatly inspired by the elements for the season, Christopher Bailey presents “Shrimpton” – his designs for Burberry’s Womenswear Fall/Winter 2011-2012 Collection.

Christopher Bailey brings us an incredible Fall/Winter collection, with outerwear in traditional styles, tight-fit or oversized, tunics and military coats. Garments are distinctively shapely, with precisely defined silhouettes either oversized or slim, yet wholly feminine. This collection is a wonderful juxtaposition of fabrics from tweeds, wool, silk, leather, fur all masterfully combined to create this exquisite collection. Although camel, honey, brown, black and white predominate, we can also enjoy a touch of juniper, red, turquoise and orange.

And of course, no collection could be complete without matching accessories – perfect for the unpredictable Fall season. Burberry introduces leather shoes in a variety of styles, all with a rubber wedge. Bags comprise various oversized handbags, quilted, in crocodile or with crocodile detailing, with tassels and in rough or super soft leather.
