Luxury mens shoes brand Alberto Guardiani presented their fall-winter 2011-2012 collection in a showroom on Corso Venezia 29, Milan. They are celebrating their 30th anniversary for men's formal shoe collections, and so their "Anniversary Collection" presented some of Alberto Guardiani's iconic pieces revisited in contemporary versions, with some superb detailing such as chains, intricately-interwoven wave-like motifs, hand-sewn leather cord profiles, and fumée Swarovksi crystal on the toes. Soles are higher and more aggressive, in line with the season's fashion motifs.
The classical anniversary collection was accompanied by a capsule collection focusing on sneakers, titled "the Sunday feeling," in which a model for sneakers is interpreted by a certain design feature. The "Adler" design was reinterpreted for use at brunch, in exclusive colours, red, bordeaux, anthracite, purple and blue, ideal for the most fashion-conscious of wearers. The Toki sneaker was developed to create ideal footwear for the stadium, with fur lining and vintage leather designed to keep out the cold. The side-mounted zip adds a tough look.
Lastly, the "Somerset" has been updated and reproportioned for a more dynamic look, thinking specifically of Sunday walks, perhaps with the dog. It is now available in woodland shades, with musk green and petrol suede inserts.
There is also an intermediate line, with rubber soles, and built-in gaiters complete with zip. One model is made using bleached leather, and a kiltie in contrasting colour.
