Cesare Paciotti S/S 2011 Featured

Feminine glamour and uptown chic
by 24 September 2010

Lace is one of the top current fashion trends that featured heavily in the F/W 2010 collections, and its popularity seems to be continuing into spring. The new S/S 2011 collection at Cesare Paciotti is large, and incredibly diverse, with lace weaving its way into many of the shoes. A clever little addition to some of the shoes is a lace graphic that’s been added to the sole…black lace printed onto a deep red background that adds a nice bit of flash.

This season Cesare Paciotti introduces the Moulin Rouge, the iconic shoe for spring. The collection emphatically praises the spirit of femininity through lacy details, glamorous materials and seductive shapes. Black suede peep-toe flats are surrounded in black lace for a dramatic effect. Sky-high suede nude-colored sandals are topped with a layer of camel-colored lace, giving the appearance of an ankle boot. Peep toe, chocolate-colored silk booties are adorned with white lace, giving the shoes a romantic antique effect.

Black lace also adorns a lovely collection of clutches with a distinctly East Asian feel, one featuring a red silk background, with shoes in patent red leather and black lace to match.

Other highlights of the collection include the classic pump in stunning colors like electric blue, canary yellow, and bright white, as well as an animal print version. A personal favorite were peep toe booties, with hole-punched suede in neutral colors like taupe, cream, and tan, and would be a wonderful staple for any spring wardrobe.

Fringe detailing also features heavily and lends a sort of neo-hippie vibe to the collection, and strengthened by the presence of ankle-high sandals, with a soft, slouchy leather front, and flat gladiator sandals accented with brass detailing.

Overall the collection is a resounding success, achieved through an impeccable attention to detail. Sophisticated and rational, yet obviously sexy, and with something to appeal to every taste.
