Porsche design, purist leather classics for spring-summer 2010 Featured

The new collection focuses on sporty, casual and exclusive leather jackets
by 29 January 2010

Porsche Design has presented its second fashion collection for the spring/summer 2010 season. The first men's collection that was designed entirely in-house proved very successful, and so the company is once again relying on the same keys to success: a classic, timeless style, featuring a high level of functionality. The most exclusive piece in the collection is a leather jacket produced in a limited edition of just 100 pieces. The new products are available worldwide from the end of January 2010 in Porsche Design stores and franchise stores.

In the second fashion collection, created entirely in-house at the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See (Austria), the marque is once again focusing on leather jackets. The result is a product range that is immaculately stylish down to the last detail. A  conscious decision to use unique materials makes the limited edition leather jacket a truly exclusive product, exceptional for its hard-wearing and lightweight leather with a paper-like appearance. The sporty and casual style is further enhanced by perforations at the shoulder, sleeves and torso area. Along with the limited edition jacket, the other leather jackets in the range also feature sophisticated detailing, such as the soft napped goatskin lining in the field jacket.

"Leather has been in fashion for decades. So it fits in perfectly with our timeless and purist design standards", says Dr Juergen Gessler, CEO of the Porsche Design Group. "Porsche Design does not follow any trend, but always sets its own accents. Our customer's feedback on our first collection designed entirely in our studio in Zell am See was consistently positive. With the new line, we will exceed even these high expectations."

The men's collection is completed with a series of fashion classics to complement the range of leather jackets. These include a sporty cardigan in exclusive merino wool, and an elegant blazer in finest cotton. In fact the new collection was made only with top quality materials. The t-shirt No.1, available in black or white, is a real eye-catcher. A complex printing process has been used to create a classic image: the 1978 Porsche Design sunglasses.

The products showcase top quality hand workmanship and intelligent design, and these factors ensure perfect fit and comfort. The masculine lines and the classic, sporty design are features that appeal to every age group. They make the fashion collection unmistakable at the very first glance.

Porsche Design is a luxury brand with a particular focus on technically inspired products. The brand was founded in 1972 by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, whose designs have always expressed functional, timeless and purist design. The product portfolio includes classic men's accessories, a sport and fashion collection, electronic products and a men's fragrance line. The products are designed at the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See, Austria. The men's collection will be available exclusively in the marque's own-brand and flagship stores, as well as in franchise stores and shop-in-shops.
