On the fourth day of the Paris Fashion Week 2012, French fashion house Christian Dior showcased its women’s wear collection for the fall/winter 2012-2013 season. The collection was designed by Dior’s acting creative director, Bill Gaytten. It is dominated by long and short dresses, and most of the collection features plain colours.
The dominant hue in Christian Dior’s collection is black, used for pants, pleated skirts, fur coats, tailored peplum tops and short sleeveless dresses. Other colours such as dusty pink, gray, lilac, black, creamy beige, bright red and ivory are also present. The main accent on femininity and conservatism in lines led to mixed critical reviews, some of which focused on the absence of particularly sharp silhouettes and the cutting-edge looks that the House of Dior is famous for.
