The Knot is one of Bottega Veneta's most beloved and iconic bags.

The rounded box clutch, based on an archival shape, is a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship. When he stepped into the role of Creative Director in 2001, Tomas Maier recognized the special quality of the rounded box clutch and created the knot closure which he designed in the form of a leather knot. This addition to the box clutch gave the bag its name.

The Knot continues to be reinvented every season, ranging from the understated to the extravagant over the years. Many versions of the Knot clutch are extremely limited in availability, some with 100 pieces made and others with as few as 25 pieces. Memory nappa gives the surface of this sumptuous version a crinkled effect made more pronounced and beautiful through regular use. This material – memory nappa – is a Bottega Verde speciality, based on the use of aluminium filaments inside the interwoven leather. Basically the material retains the shape that you give it.
