One word to sum up the Corneliani show at Milan’s Triennale design museum: gray. Gray in all of its glorious forms from heavy coats to suits, ties, zip-up sweaters and turtlenecks. Also present were gray’s downplayed pals black, brown, cream and navy, but gray was the clear dominating force in Corenliani’s fall/winter palette – solid, humble, understated and thereby incredibly masculine.

Pants that cut off just before the ankle were covered by long coats, reminding us of Bon Ton gone financial district. Heavy sweaters and light patterns for daytime started the show and refined, all black dandy-style evening wear finished off a strong and balanced collection.
