Etoile ‘La boutique' showcased current fashion trends at the Mall of the Emirates

by 03 November 2010

In October, Etoile ‘La boutique’ in the Mall of the Emirates was transformed into a bustling photography studio for the day. In an exciting twist, VIPs who are usually in front of the camera were taken behind it and given the challenge of styling and shooting models themselves.

Professional fashion photographers gave guests exclusive insider knowledge on how to show off their best features and use lighting to flatter their complexion, while style consultants helped them to collaborate the latest trends from the best new and established designers to create beautiful ensembles for the models to wear.

Mini studios were set up where guests, including VIPs and members of the press rose to the challenge with enthusiasm. Fashionistas rifled through rails of this season’s most luxurious and exclusive pieces straight off the world’s catwalks, taking advice on how to make the best out of their own, and their models’ assets.

Lace and embroidery detailing featured highly in the styling showing off this season’s romantic ambience. The autumnal weather has brought ultra-sexy layering back in abundance and even though summer is coming to an end, floral prints are still in full bloom, as shown by Nina Ricci, Antonio Marras and Lydia Delgado’s collections. Jitrois went to the other end of the texture spectrum, making leather the fabric of the season, whilst block blacks, blues and reds featured highly across the board.

Sold exclusively at Etoile ‘La boutique’ this season is stylist-to-the-stars Rachel Zoe’s much loved label Guilty Brotherhood from Kevork Kiledjian , alongside pieces from the world’s big fashion houses – Nina Ricci, Valentino, Christian Dior, John Galliano, and designers from around the world like Sharon Wauchob, INGIE Paris, Lie Sang Bong, Twenty Cluny and many more.

Etoile ‘La boutique’ What’s Hot Now events are becoming some of the most anticipated events of the season, each more innovative and interactive than the last. Guests left having learnt valuable skills in how to style themselves and pose when being photographed. With this knowledge, they will never have to worry about unflattering photographs again.
