Carnival 2012 in Venice - Luna Hotel Baglioni
Venice, romantic at any time, represents an amazing experience at carnival, and the Luna Hotel Baglioni offers the chance to experience the 18th-century style Carnival in Venice to the full.
There will be three masqued balls, on Saturday 11 February, Friday 17 February, and Saturday 18 February. For that period, the hotel will be displaying some classic Carnival costumes made by a contemporary workshop on 18th and 19th century models. Guests will be able to hire or purchase these garments in order to live Carnival to the full.
The hotel is offering some special packages for the Carnival period that include buffet breakfast and entrance to the exclusive Carnival parties.
The parties will be as follows:
Saturday 11 February. A masqued evening, starting with cocktails in the Sala Caminetto, with entertainment by actors and actresses in Carnival costume; a sophisticated buffet dinner; a theatre comedy based on Puccini's Tosca. Plus a DJ set, and traditional Venetian desserts to conclude the evening.
Friday 17 February. The masqued ball "Ballo dei Conti Baglioni," in authentic 18th century atmosphere. Aperitifs with Bellini and Rossini cocktails, and then everyone will be dancing minuets, with guidance from experts in costume. Then buffet dinner, traditional Venetian desserts, and a DJ set.
Saturday 18 February. Guests will take part in the costume pageant in the Sala Caminetto. Then a revisited version of one of the most famous theatrical works of all time, Madama Butterfly. Then a gala dinner, and traditional Venetian specialities by chef Cosimo. Followed by dancing with a DJ set.
