In its 150th anniversary year, Chopard is exploring new realms of communication

by 09 June 2010

Chopard.tv and the Chopard Diary: the luxury jewellery maison based in Geneva, Switzerland, is utilizing the latest forms of media communication to highlight its uniquely original work in the area of finest luxury jewelry.

The Chopard Diary presents the latest news on Chopard's work. For example, for 8th June, the product featured is the fragrance "Brilliant Wish," which continues the style of the 1997 "Wish" with its innovative and original glass bottle in the shape of a diamond. The "brilliant cut" shape of the bottle means that it stands diagonally on one of its facets. The Diary provides a convenient overview of the Maison's multiple areas of interest, and looks ahead to upcoming events including the White Tie & Tiara Ball at Windsor (24 June), the Oldtime Rally at Gstaad (25-27 June), the British Classic Car Meeting in St. Moritz (9-11 July) and the Ennstal Classic (14-17 July). Chopard TV is a multimedia website presenting a fascinating series of videos illustrating some of the events in which Chopard is involved, such as the lovely sequences of Classic motor-car racing, and fascinating insights into the craftsmanship involved in designing and making Haute Joaillerie pieces. Other videos describe Chopard's approach to horology, and its pioneering work on its own L.U.C. movement that represents the technological core of its timepieces. Interestingly, "It is still the pencil that gives origin to a watch," says the commentary to its "Time in movement" video.

Chopard.tv is a truly fascinating site, with sections on events, products, boutiques and ambassadors, featuring personalities such as Jose Carreras and Elton John. Enjoy at www.chopard.tv
