NEWS: CEO of Ulysse Nardin passes away

LE LOCLE - Rolf W. Schnyder, CEO of the Swiss watch label Ulysee Nardin has unexpectedly passed away following a short illness.

Susanne Hurni, head of media relations at the label released a statement saying " With the passing of Rolf W. Schnyder, the watchmakin indistry as lost one of its greatest visionaries. While Ulysee Nardin has lost an important source of innovation for the firm."

Schnyder acquired the family firm Ulysse Nardin in 1983 and since then has held the role of president and CEO at the helm of the company. Under his leadership Ulysse Nardin rose to become one of the top players in the mechanical watchmaking sector with numerous innovations such as the first astronomical wrist watch. Schnyder passed away on April 14th, with a notification filed over the weekend. The operational running of the business has been assumed by current members of the management and the company moves forward without interruption, working still to preserve the spirit of Schnyder's vision.
