Blumarine Spring 2013 - balanced hues
Anna Molinari continues to show us young things that she knows what we want and just how we should be wearing it. Her latest Blumarine collection for spring/summer 2013 was a clean and precise assembly of total looks that were balanced from beginning to end. The first camisoles, skirts and light hooded trenches came out in stark ivory white with the spodaric infusion of a reflective ruched bronze. After all this heavenly palette affair came the pink, a mature sort of deep magenta that flattered without seeming flashy - we especially fancied this hue on this season's 70s pantsuit. Heading back to softer shades, Molinari turned things down a notch with the subtlest of mint greens splashed on silk and plissed gowns. Then came the patterns, but as far as print goes these stamps were subtle in pastel on white. The show ended on black, the perfect complement to the starting white. This black was very much about evening with transparent materials, lacy effects and nightdress-like dresses, in fact the final long sheer look was fit for a high fashion bedtime.
