"Apertura" has been the kick-off for autumnal contemporary art events for the past five years. Three days, 44 exhibitions, around fifty artists all displayed in the most important cultural institutions in Madrid.

40 art galleries and institutions including the Reina Sofía Museum, Thyssen Museum, Centro Dos de Mayo open up their doors, offering a wide range of activities and viewings to bring the latest creations to the general public.
The exhibition is a tour of national and international artists from all disciplines in the artistic field and brings collectors, experts and professionals to Madrid from all over the world.

Apertura's purpose is to bring the contemporary creation closer to the public. Among the activities offered LUXOS recommends the guided tours by world-renowned gallerists and curators through exhibitions and showrooms. The workshops for families, taught by educators and artists, and the exclusive, after-hours visits to the larger museums where their directors or curators welcome you to private viewings.
