Luna Hotel Baglioni, special events for the Venice Film Festival
The Luna Hotel Baglioni is running a series of cultural and culinary events for the Venice Film Festival, which runs from 31 August to 10 September 2010.
In the hotel, there is an exhibition titled "Tribute to Emilio Schuberth, the tailor of the Dolce Vita”, which looks at the links between fashion and cinema. There are photos by Giuseppe Palmas and Angelo Frontoni, dating to the 1950s, 60s and 70s, a fine expression of Italian glamour.
Caffè Baglioni, part of the hotel facilities and with a view onto a canal and the Giardini Reali, presents the “Film Festival Happy Hour.” Every day from 6 p.m. on, enjoy great cocktails recalling the history of international film stars, with a sound ambience consisting of familiar film themes played live.
At the Ristorante Canova, which has recently won the Gambero Rosso and Fogher d’Oro prizes, chef Cosimo presents some original gourmet recipes on a cinema theme. The restaurant is open every day for lunch frmo 12.30 p.m. and for dinner from 7.30 p.m.
All guests staying at Luna Hotel Baglioni will receive a special welcome with strawberries and champagne, and they will receive personalized service in order to be able to visit the Film Festival. in fact, the hotel concierges can provide updated information on programmes, and help with ticket purchase and transport to the Lido. If you're a last-minute visitor, and would like the chance to stay in a historic building close to Piazza San Marco, contact the hotel as soon as possible; a few rooms are still available, all beautifully restored in Venetian style, with period furniture and luxury textile decorations. Ideal if you're just interested in visiting the magical city of Venice with or without the films!
