The Westin Palace, Madrid

Christmas Bliss at King Alfonso XIII Residence

by 13 November 2013

Spend Christmas in Madrid and stay at the Westin Palace. Built by order of King Alfonso XIII in 1912, it is one of the largest and most ornate Victorian-style hotels in the city, created to satisfy the tastes of the most distinguished and discerning travellers.

It’s a time when the Christmas lights, created by some of Spain's finest designers, are turned on and the city’s streets and squares are filled with a magical air. Holiday traditions include visiting one of the city’s best known Christmas markets at the Plaza Mayor, having your photo taken under the Christmas tree lights in Puerta del Sol, attending one of the many open-air events and concerts on the Gran Vía, and taking in the nativity scenes and Magi processions.

Located in the centre of the "Art Triangle", Westin Palace, Madrid provides guests with a luxurious and elegant base from which to explore Spain’s vibrant capital city. It is only steps away from some of the world's best museums including the Prado, Reina Sofia and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Foundation.

The Westin Palace is proud to unveil its Christmas holiday calendar and has created a number of special packages:
- Available from 18 December until 30 December, the Westin Palace is offering guests a rate of 199 euro + 10% VAT.
- On Christmas Eve the hotel has planned a sumptuous dinner menu from 649 euro, VAT included, which includes accommodation, breakfast and dinner for two.
- A Christmas Brunch with a live opera performance under the hotel’s famed glass-stained Dome to celebrate the holidays with family and friends.
- New Year’s Eve Gala event. Start the year in splendour and luxury at this year’s New Year’s Eve Gala event, dubbed the Beautiful Party, one of the city’s most glamorous parties, bringing together over 300 guests from across the globe. The event promises an evening of sumptuous food, festive atmosphere and great entertainment, and includes live jazz playing in the background during dinner.
The menu is designed by the masters of "Le Cordon Bleu", the world’s most prestigious culinary arts school. Seven international chefs will conjure up a glorious menu to excite the palate and created to surpass expectations. The festivities will continue with music by DJ Fernando Martinez Teruel, who will have guests dancing their way into the New Year.
