The prestigious London hotel in the Mayfair district will unveil the 2013 edition of the tree on November 26.
The tree will be designed in the Sicilian tradition of Mr. Dolce’s home, featuring classic puppets, hand-painted glass balls, and spectacular light displays in the style of the ones that line the streets of Palermo during the holidays. This is the fourth time Claridge’s has brought in a famous designer to do the tree and the first time an Italian designer has been selected.
“We are honoured to welcome Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana and bring their Christmas magic to our lobby. Both Claridge’s and Dolce & Gabbana are synonymous with timeless glamour, spirit of innovation, and traditional family values, which are especially important at this time of year,” said Claridge’s General Manager Thomas Kochs.
“When we think of London, Claridge’s immediately comes to mind and the typically English atmosphere that attracts us and every time makes us love this city like it’s the first time. Out Christmas tree is not only a celebration of an Italian Christmas, but it is also a hymn to the artisan tradition of Italy, the same love that we export to the world with what we do,” said Mr. Dolce and Mr. Gabbana in a statement.
The inauguration of the Christmas tree at Claridge’s has always been a landmark event on London’s Christmas calendar, one attended by locals and tourists alike. Dolce & Gabbana’s tree promises to be like no other Claridge’s tree before so don’t miss out on seeing it, starting November 26.
