Hotel Straf

Cutting edge industrial design and hi tech functionality.

by 21 January 2015

The ultramodern Hotel Straf is situated in the city centre, a short walk from the Duomo Cathedral. The chic shopping district around Via Montenapoleone and the Scala Theatre are both a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Duomo Metro Station is just 200 metres away.

The Straf’s unassuming facade masks a modern yet elegant interior with raw-concrete walls and oversized chaise-longues in the lobby. The unconventional industrial design is a far cry from the standard hotel design instead choosing unusual and recycled objects and including elements of industrial style and Arte Povera. It could be described as a destination hotel for the style conscious, the arty and those looking for something out of the ordinary.

The 64 rooms of all sizes reflect two apparently diverse philosophies: extreme hi-tech functionality with a minimalist approach and the warm and intimate ambience of rooms designed using innovative materials such as split slate, burnished brass, concrete and iron, gauze effect glass and aged mirrors alongside furnishings designed by Vincenzo De Cotiis.

Straf Hotel & Bar is a celebration of bona fide cutting-edge fashionista minimalism, with distressed fabric under glass along its stylish corridors, and scuffed-satiny walls.Guests can start the day with a generous Continental buffet breakfast or an additional hot breakfast to set you up for the day. Open for lunch, the restaurant specialises in Mediterranean and International dishes, along with vegetarian options. There are also the well being relax rooms and gym for guests use available 24 hours a day.
