Why girls love studs
Forever the female love affairby Henry Neuteboom
Tanned, handsome, well-heeled, great on shopping excursions, not at all straight-laced... but actually I'm talking about women's sneakers for summer 2012, many of which feature studs, either underneath or on top, or both.
Tod's Gommino shoe is a real classic, always a favourite, and emerging victorious yet again from each season's redesign. The spring-summer 2012 women's Gommino is as comfy as ever to wear, but super-decorative as well, with sequins, studs in gold or silver, or beads in an intriguing python-effect model. The fact that they are limited-edition makes them even more attractive for all those for whom shoes are collector's items. Below, the limited-edition Gommino with gold-finishe studs:

Baldinini's take on this summer's sneakers is quite restrained in comparison, with rhinestone on the toe that provides a touch of flash: below, navy blue nappa leather sneakers with personalized plate and rhinestone appliqué on the toe, rubber sole:
Alberto Guardiani's sneakers are in pastel colours, in leather, suede and fabric, with Swarovski crystals that spell out the emblematic G on the uppers:
Jimmy Choo's sneaker for the season is also understated. This model (below) is named Miami, and has some silver and gold glitter.
Christian Louboutin's sneakers are pure aggro, with some very dangerous-looking studs on the toes. No need for the pepper spray in the handbag when you're wearing these. (Below, the No Limits Women's Flat).
Another Christian Louboutin design, Rolling Spikes Flat. More a pump than a sneaker, but the feel is the same:
So, just choose your studs and head out for the evening!
