Starlit dinner at Cannes
As stars flock to the Cannes International Film Festival, other stars are busy at work in a state-of-the-art kitchen by ElectroluxBy Vanessa Viara
Everyone knows that Cannes is the place to be during May when the Film Festival takes place. Everyone in the entertainment business flocks to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrés for a peek at this year’s top films. With the massive influx of guests in town, it is only logical that the entertainment and amenities are going to be exceptional.
With that in mind, international household label Electrolux has prepared a scrumptious surprise. They have set up the Electrolux Agora kitchen right next to the Palais des Festival and have engaged Michelin-starred Bruno Oger and winner of last year’s Bocuse d’Or Rasmus Kofoed to unleash their creativity.
The chefs were given a state-of-the-art kitchen, 45 kilos of smoked salmon, 20 kilos of scallops, 21 kilos of morels, 12 kilos of truffles, 70 litres of cream and 4 kilos of chocolate. The result? We wish that we could have been there to provide a first-hand report! A culinary extravaganza featuring Morilles mushroom mousse with wine and truffle cream; smoked salmon and scallop with horseradish cream, cucumber, herbs and flowers; liquorice ice cube with red berries, and other exquisite specialities that we think are more expressive in pictures than in words. All accompanied by chilled Piper Rosé Sauvage Champagne.
Some of the celebrities who enjoyed the fare were Jessica Chastain, Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Thomas, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, Diane Kruger, Tilda Swinton and Freida Pinto.
