Let’s start our tour at the Place Saint-Sulpice and its imposing church, one of the biggest in the city and the subject of extensive media attention in 2003, following the release of the book “The Da Vinci Code”. Visit two of the bookshops most loved by the arrondissement’s intellectuals. Make your way down Rue de Mézières to la Procure, or along Boulevard Saint Germain to the La Hune bookshop.

Flick through your new book over a well-deserved drink at one of the nearby cafés (we recommend Flore or Les Deux Magots) or alternatively have a bite at the illustrious Brasserie Lipp. A good alternative is the covered market in Saint-Germain-des-Prés on Rue Lobineau where high fashion boutiques rub shoulders with cheap eateries. True fans of swing should go for a drink at Club de Jazz, Chez Papa on Rue Saint-Benoît followed by a delicious dinner at the magnificent Art Nouveau restaurant, Le Petit Zinc, not far from Paris’ Beaux-Arts.

For international brands, at Place Saint-Germain you’ll find Louis Vuitton, Dior, and nearer still, Swarovski and Cartier, whilst further down Rue de Rennes, there is Montblanc and Rolex.
