Agnona Spring / Summer 2012
Fashion Review of the new women’s collectionby Alessia Sara Domanico
Cashmere in summer? Oh yes we can! One of our favourite Italian women’s brands, Agnona has plenty of cashmere propositions for next season, all crafted in a lighter blend for an easy and elegant wear.
This afternoon the fashion elite flocked to Milan's Via Bigli for a private presentation of Agnona's new collection. Stepping in we saw two large staircase facing one another from across the showroom with models posing on the various platform levels. On one side we had the label's classic Brown Collection with pieces inspired by the brand's archive and on the other, a lighter, more modern collection of casual and chic wear that belongs to their White Collection.
Agnona's line of timeless pieces adds more stylish comrades for next spring in the form of belted knee length dresses, long knitwear dresses with matching floor-length cardigans (perfect for taller frames), handmade cardigans (perfect to team with denim) and thin double-breasted peacoats as well as double cashmere crew neck coats in a range of neutral and bright colours (for cooler evenings and when summer turns to fall). The wide-legged trousers in chocolate reminded us of Katherine Hepburn, especially when paired with a white pleated blouse in crepe de chine material.
The ensembles are unmistakably Italian chic, perfect for heading aboard a yacht and docking in Portofino or taking an evening stroll through the city streets. The brand also worked a great deal with lightweight silks and cottons for a more relaxed and casual appeal. As for accessories the Bonnie Ball Bag is back with a new weaved design that interchanges colours and the Yoko and Frida handbag styles add an artsy flair to your arm.
