Istanbul Music Festival

The 44th Istanbul Music Festival, organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV), pays tribute to Shakespeare with a programme inspired by his verse, ‘If music be the food of love, play on.’ Nearly 600 local and international artists are set to perform in 26 concerts across 17 venues. The festival kicks off with an opening concert by the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra and includes can’t-miss thematic concerts like the Orchestra of the Swan performing Mendelssohn’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ at the Hagia Eirene and pianist Alexei Volodin performing a repertoire of Shakespeare’s works presented with scenes from his plays at the St Antoine Church. 1-24 June www.iksv.org

Istanbul Jazz Festival

Like the Istanbul Music Festival, this is organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV). The 23rd Istanbul Jazz Festival brings well-known jazz musicians from all over the world to Istanbul for unforgettable performances in some of the city’s most historic venues. 12-24 July www.iksv.org

One Love Festival
